Welcome to Las Vegas

Please enjoy this photo gallery from the 2017 SEMA Show

SEMA is always a time of excitement and energy. Shops and companies spend weeks and months getting ready to display their latest and greatest cars, trucks and accessories for the eager Buyers to check out. Vegas is the perfect setting for this type of mass materialism and blatant exhibitionism of awesome automotive aftermarket pimpery. If you haven’t made the time to go, definitely put it on your bucket list. If you can only take a quick tour of the outside displays and drifting track, it’s well worth your time. Just hop on the Las Vegas Monorail and ride it north to the Convention Center stop. Hop out, wander up the stairs and down the escalator to the observation deck and just hang out for a while. Bring a camera and take in the sites that any true car guy would appreciate.

Ford Racing Performance Stickers

Ford has recently consolidated their performance divisions into Ford Performance worldwide. This includes SVT, Europe’s Team RS and Ford Racing.

For all the info on this, please see the article in AutoWeek.

With this news in mind, I was doing my thang and surfing the ‘net and came across this cool logo for Ford Racing Performance Parts. I have never seen it before. I cannot tell you how new or recent it is, but a quick gooooogle search came up with nothing. So it might be new? I’m a sucker for stickers, and this one is pretty cool.

If someone can confirm or deny this, please leave a comment.

In the meantime, please enjoy the graphic below…

But since Ford is changing the name to Ford Performance, these stickers may be history soon.

……….

This sounds like a really cool event!!!

Press Release:

2015 California Festival of Speed Set for Auto Club Speedway – April 11- 12, 2015

Fontana, Calif. – – What has become one of the most anticipated special car weekends of the year, the California Festival of Speed is set to once again take over Auto Club Speedway on April 11-12, 2015.

The annual event is a two-day, total immersion experience for fans of great road cars with Saturday given over to the wonderful world of Porsche automobiles and Sunday’s agenda’s set to celebrate the full range of euro/supercars in all of their power-packed glory.

Over 10,000 fans visited the event last year and the organizers feel that the crowd will double for this year’s Festival of Speed. “The word is out,” said Event Manager Martin Lipp. “This event presents a full weekend of two of the best car days ever, with more attractions, more variety, and more of the people who really know these wonderful machines.”

Porsche of San Diego is the title sponsor for this year’s event, “We’re very excited to be involved with this great event,” said Joe Allis, President of the dealership located near Highway 15 in Mira Mesa. “We’ve seen this weekend grow in attendance and prestige and we’re very much looking forward to this year’s show.”

Saturday, April 11’s “menu” will include an incredible array of Porsche-centric attractions like Porsche new car test drives, a Pirelli GT3 Cup race, special parking “corrals” for each of the various Porsche models, a Porsche swap meet, a concours d’elegance, the chance to take some exciting parade laps right on the Speedway, a wide-ranging vendor’s row with over 50 companies displaying, the latest electronic driving simulators, and a special “winner’s circle” photo area where fans be able to take “selfies” of themselves with one of the on-site umbrella girls.

Of particular interest to many visitors will be a special preview of the new Porsche Experience Center now being built by that company in Carson, California.

In true southern California style, gourmet food trucks will be on hand both days with a delightful selection of food items and refreshments.

On Sunday, April 12, all the of above Porsche attractions will all be there and the Festival will add what has become the largest Supercar event  in the Southwest.  Sponsored by HRE Wheels, over 1000 exotic Eurocars are expected to roll in to Fontana from all points of the compass.  Internet Brands will sponsor special club corrals for marques like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Jaguar, Ferrari, Maserati, Maybach, Bentley, Lamborghini, Corvette, McLaren, Aston Martin and many more.

Sunday’s Eurocar swap meet will be of special interest to fans and aficionados alike.  There’s really nothing like a stroll by table after table of glittering parts and pieces of some incredible machines, all laid out, each with an interesting story (and maybe a bargain price) behind every one.

The 2015 California Festival of Speed at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana is two full days of exotic automotive excitement and entertainment … a multi-faceted attraction that has something for everyone who loves stirring motorcars.

There’s no admission charge for either day of the 2015 California Festival of Speed and parking is $10 per car (the parking ticket is good for both days).
